In an effort to celebrate our marriage with all of our loved ones, we will be celebrating in both Norway and the States. Our wedding ceremony will occur in Charleston but if you're looking for an excuse to travel to northern Europe we would love to see you in Oslo! Oslo is the perfect city to explore over a 3-4 day trip and we've included some of our favorite places below. Fun fact: The sun does not set until 10 PM in August!

EKEBERGPARKEN
MEGHAN'S FAVORITE: Where nature meets art: Sculptures are scattered through a wooded area overlooking the city of Oslo. The installations are truly unique and it's a bit like a scavenger hunt to find each one.
there's a cafe and restaurant on the property so you can grab a bite while hiking the trails.

FLOATING SAUNA & COLD PLUNGE
MARKUS' FAVORITE: There are several floating sauna options on the fjord with views of the Opera House. You can either book your own private sauna (KOK) with a guide and friends or opt for SALT which is a bit livelier with street food and bars

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT CHARLESTON HOTELS
The Charleston peninsula is home to around 30+ hotels and inns. The ones we have suggested below only scratch the surface of where you can stay during our wedding weekend. There are even more options in Mount Pleasant which is about 20 minutes from downtown. This is a great option for those who rent a car or plan on grabbing an Uber.
Please do not get discouraged by the outrageous (yes, I said it!) pricing of some hotels on the peninsula. Meghan has put together a list of additional hotel options that you can find at the link below.

THE DEWBERRY HOTEL
THE DEWBERRY HOTEL
334 MEETING STREET
CHARLESTON, SC
We do not have a room block allocated for our wedding weekend but you are welcome to book here regardless. The rooms get pretty pricey during peak season but there are TONS of other options if you're looking to stay downtown.
hotel emeline
HOTEL EMELINE
181 CHURCH STREET
CHARLESTON, SC
Hotel Emeline is a fan favorite located in the heart of Charleston and a 1/2 mile from our wedding venue. Emeline has bike rentals, an excellent on site restaurant (Frannie & the Fox) and a cozy courtyard bar with fire place. For those who do not want to rent an airbnb, Emeline has two floor suites that can accommodate up to four people.
charleston harbor resort
CHARLESTON HARBOR RESORT & MARINA
20 PATRIOTS POINT ROAD
MOUNT PLEASANT, SC
Located just over the bridge in Mount Pleasant and only a 15 minute drive from the peninsula! This resort has several pools, a spa, restaurants and beach front property. A good option if you want to experience the beach and the city while in Charleston. And for those of you wondering, yes, you can absolutely go to the beach in September!
airbnb
DOWNTOWN AIRBNBS
Downtown Charleston is very walkable and if you are not renting a car this is a great area to stay in. King Street and Meeting Street host a variety of shops and restaurants and are less than a mile from our wedding venue. I put together a list of downtown airbnbs below:
We rely heavily on Uber when we don't feel like walking. Most rides in and around the peninsula will be $15.

BEACH AIRBNBS
If you are looking to have a beach holiday, there are hundreds of beach house airbnbs available. Charleston is still very warm at the end of September with highs of 84 (29 C) and lows of 74 (23 C). You can use Uber but a rental car is recommended as the wedding events will be hosted on the peninsula. I put together a list of beach house airbnbs below:
FOLLY BEACH - 10 MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN
ISLE OF PALMS - 30 MINUTES
SULLIVANS ISLAND - 20 MINUTES
